Dr. Ryan Aschenbrener is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). A Wisconsin native, he earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin before completing medical school at the University of Cincinnati. During his PM&R residency at the University of Virginia, he served as co-Chief Resident, which furthered his interest in musculoskeletal injuries and recovery. He then completed a NASS-accredited Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine fellowship in Washington, DC.

Dr. Aschenbrener performs a full range of fluoroscopic X-ray and ultrasound-guided procedures, including spine, joint, and soft-tissue injections: platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections; and radiofrequency ablation. He also performs advanced procedures, including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, kyphoplasty, and basivertebral nerve ablation. During clinic visits, he pairs procedural options for pain relief with individualized plans for long-term functional improvement, including physical therapy and lifestyle modifications.

Outside of work, Dr. Aschenbrener enjoys cycling the Greenway trail with his wife, weight training, playing guitar, and playing pickleball. He is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Formula 1 Racing, and the Carolina Hurricanes.

What Our Patients Are Saying

Very attentive to my situation. Understood my concerns and made sure I accomplished all my tasks during my PT. Even suggested alternative crutches should I need them.

Dr. Rion is very professional and pleasant. He has been doing injections in both my knees for several years. When I have knee replacements, he will certainly be my surgeon of choice.

Lauren Zenker took her time to listen, consider what I said and offer multiple options explaining the potential ramifications of each one. I’m very pleased with her and Dr. Watson’s services.

In the last 4 weeks ,Dr Rion is the 4th doctor I have seen for this same problem and the only who has , in my opinion has taken the step to get to the root of my injury, which has gotten increasingly painful and unbearable over the last few weeks. GOOD JOB DOC.

1 year after hip replacement check-up- all good. Feels and moves like it was my own natural hip when I was young. I’m pain free and back to doing what ever I want- except restrictions of no high impact. Great job Dr. Rion! The man is pretty cool!
