OrthoNC is hiring a full-time Front Desk Associate. This is a unique opportunity to thrive in a high-volume, collaborative environment while providing a warm, welcoming experience for every patient.
What You’ll Do
Deliver outstanding customer service and maintain professional patient interactions at all times
Perform routine clerical and administrative duties, including answering phones, greeting patients, assisting with check-in/check-out, collecting patient information, and processing payments
Receive patients, answer questions, and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department
Maintain office forms and procedures, assist with scanning mail, and manage EMR task buckets
Assist with processing incoming referrals
Operate office equipment as needed
Compose, type, and edit correspondence, memoranda, and other materials, including electronic document management
Assist patients and staff with department resources and general office support
Support clinical teams to ensure smooth provider and patient flow
Prepare patient charts according to physician-specific policies and procedures
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, and obtain authorizations as needed
Collect co-payments and other time-of-service payments and balance daily financials
Accurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in EMR
Schedule patient appointments accurately and efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and stay on task to ensure timely patient service
Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Previous front desk, administrative, or customer service experience in a medical setting preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in handling payments and balancing end-of-day financials
Flexible, adaptable, and a team player
Demonstrates ethical conduct, initiative, and effective time management
Experience with insurance verification and EMR systems preferred
Required Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education & Experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical field
