Christine Keenan, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner


Christine is originally from Massachusetts, but now calls North Carolina home. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Merrimack College, cum laude, and was a four-year member of the NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Team. Shortly thereafter, she received an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State University, summa cum laude. Duke University is what brought Christine down to North Carolina where she received her Master’s Degree in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, summa cum laude. Christine worked as an Athletic Trainer while pursuing her Nursing Degree.

Christine worked as an Athletic Trainer while pursuing her Nursing Degree. She has years of experience as a Registered Nurse from her time at Duke Regional’s Emergency Department, Duke Urgent Care, and as an Emergency Department travel nurse in California. Her experience as an Athletic Trainer and Registered Nurse provided her with a solid foundation to transition into an advanced practice provider role with an orthopedic specialization. 

Christine is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She holds licenses as a Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina and California. Nursing licenses in North Carolina, California, and Massachusetts. Certified in Athletic Training by the Board of Certification (BOC). Christine is currently a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. 

Her interest and affinity for Orthopedics are deeply rooted in her love of sports and being an accomplished multi-sport competitive athlete. While she is away from OrthoNC, Christine enjoys spending time with her husband and two rescue dogs, traveling, and working out.
