Anna Marie Schumitta is a native of Wake Forest, NC who received her undergraduate education at East Carolina University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Foundation Curriculum Honors, earning a Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology. She also completed her medical education at East Carolina University, participating in the Early Assurance Admission program. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy and obtained her North Carolina Board certification in 2009.
Anna Marie completed clinical affiliations with two hospitals in acute care, as well as two local outpatient physical therapy offices. Her graduate research assessed the number and types of injuries in runners and whether this is affected by foot arch height and mobility. She enjoys working with all ages as well as a variety of orthopedic conditions. She has attended continuing education courses for orthopedic treatment of the knee, shoulder, as well as a Paris course for the spine.
Anna Marie lives in Wake Forest with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, working out, traveling, and especially taking trips to the lake.
