Dr. Zuber was born and raised in Park Ridge, New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from UNC in Chapel Hill, and graduated from medical school at UNC. He completed a residency in Family Medicine in Phoenix, Arizona, where he was named outstanding resident physician in the state of Arizona. He has been board certified in Family Medicine and Geriatrics. He completed a Faculty Development Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, where he received his M.P.H. and M.B.A. in Health Policy and Management.
Dr. Zuber has served in private practice and academic medicine. He directed medical practices in Benson, N.C., and Boone, N.C. He has teaching awards from 3 medical schools where he has taught. He served as a Residency Director and Department Director at Michigan State University, where he directed 36 training physicians and many medical students. He served as Procedural Skills Director at East Carolina University. He taught Procedural Skills, Dermatologic Surgery, and Injection Therapy for national organizations including the AAFP. He has published over 85 articles and 13 medical books, and lectures nationally.
Dr. Zuber has practiced sports medicine for many years. He worked on the medical staff for the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Lions preseason camp, and served as team physician for the Saginaw Wheels professional hockey team. He served as team physician for South Johnston High School. He was Medical Director for Spring Hill Camps for a decade, overseeing the medical care of over 15,000 children per summer. He has been a volunteer youth leader in his church. He has been a volunteer youth basketball and baseball coach, and continues to travel with his children’s showcase teams. Dr. Zuber resides in Cary with his wife, Julie, and their four children.
