Christie is a native of Raleigh and attended NC State University as an undergraduate receiving a BS in biological sciences in 2006. She went on to study at UNC Chapel Hill where she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. She has completed clinical affiliations in orthopedics and pediatrics while at UNC. She also has additional training in myofascial release, and gait and balance training for the older adult population. Christie has continued to specialize in orthopedics in her early career with an added interest in post-operative rehabilitation, manual therapy, and gait and balance training.
Christie and her husband live in Wake Forest, NC with their daughter and two dogs. Both are avid NC State fans. In their free time, they are active in supporting and volunteering for Cherubs, a local foundation for Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, a condition close to their hearts.
